We recommend always using only the oil approved by the respective compressor manufacturer, as the specific selection of the oil is of great importance for the performance of a refrigeration compressor. Chlorine-free refrigerants are not soluble in conventional refrigeration oils (mineral, alkylbenzene), so a reliable oil circulation is therefore not guaranteed in circuits of conventional design. For this reason, special ester oils have been developed by the compressor, refrigerant and oil industries, which have sufficient solubility with good lubricating properties. Despite the generally favorable properties of these oils, their water absorption capacity is higher than that of previously common lubricants. Therefore, these oils should only briefly come into contact with air when filling the system.
