Leak detection using UV leak detection systems is a very accurate and simple method with relatively low investment. An ultraviolet dye is injected into the A/C system. This UV agent is ester oil based and circulates with the oil through the system. It escapes at the smallest leaks and can be made visible with a special UV lamp (not a blue light lamp).
