FCSM speed controllers are suitable for stepless speed control of asynchronous motors approved for phase-angle control. Application examples include fans, pumps and mixers. All Carel speed controllers are controlled by an external control unit. The FCSM is connected to an external controller with a continuous 0-10 V output such as pRack, pCO5, or IR33 Universal. A 10 kOhm potentiometer can be connected to all FCSM for manual speed preselection. When selecting the size of the speed controller, any increased current consumption of the connected motors in the low speed range (lower operating voltage) must be taken into account. Function: All speed controllers operate according to the phase-angle principle, thus enabling stepless speed control between 0-230V. The motors to be controlled should correspond to class H and must be approved for phase-angle control. Mounting: FCSM speed controllers for 230 V are intended for installation in control cabinets or in device housings. Sufficient air circulation is required for cooling the controllers. The mounting must be carried out in such a way that the cooling fins are vertical. The setting for "Min-mode" (min-speed) or "Cut-off mode" (CUT-OFF) is done in the external controller for the FCSM. Electrical connection: Please observe phase equality for the 230V models - the control transformer for the controlling regulator (e.g. Microrack or Microchiller² SE) must use the same phase.
